What is the Metaverse

What is the Metaverse?

An interactive 3d virtual space. We perceive our world in 3 dimensions that is bounded by nature's axioms, but with a super advanced headset we can enter a new 3d world, apparently. This space shouldn't be limited by the nature's laws I'd assume. The internet, automobile, and airplane changed how we spend our time. Society is molded by these innovations. The internet changed how we people communicate and do business. The metaverse plans to transform the world in a similar fashion.

What's the origin of Meta?

Mark Zuckerberg started a social network called thefacebook.com as a computer science student with a deep passion for building software. His aim was to connect people through the internet. The company acquired notable applications to their social media collection like WhatsApp and Instagram, increasing the gap from their competition. Where they lack is data protection demonstrated from their Cambridge Analytica scandal and a data leak that proved their business motives greatly exceed their ethical considerations.

How will Meta succeed?

This giga software will have to handle many hurdles. A 3D virtual world would require a powerful development suite for developers to build apps. It would require powerful hardware to handle freakish amounts of RAM. Societal internet infrastructure would also need to improve to handle the bandwidth. The product is a major investment for the company. Meta employs only top talent in the industry. At the current moment we are not close to housing any metaverse. This is on the latter part of Zuckerberg's illustrious vision board.

Will consumers use this technology?

The technology has a bad rap. It's a huge job and cash drain. Recent consumer technology innovations include the TV and PC. The television is a one-way interaction, the computer is a two. The metaverse would be a sort of three-way interaction...the third being sensual interactions. Researchers think that we should expect the the metaverse to go live around 2040. I don't think it will be available so soon...
