I'm working on a social networking website. No not an app i know what your thinking. I dont know app development so this is what I can offer for now. The site is currently in a development/testing stage but I've gotten a thousand or so profiles. Mostly from Nigeria. I've learned a lot from these users behaviors. It's helped me improve the setup flow more than anything. But I've also found very simple patterns in the UIUX flow when liking and rejecting profiles. The network features location and I think that can help create closer communities. It's surprising how less relevant location is in current socials. The initial vision of the app was to be a social app, then changed to a dating site for marketablilty, but now its back to the social network vision and i'm running with it. After all a dating platform is redundant since anything with a chat is a dating app. User profiles on current social medias show their posted content but I'm instead taking a dating app's design with a profile card where user's can really share a lot of information about themselves. I like this approach a lot so the dating vision served it's purpose for me. Currently there are 4 tabs on the nav bar. Discover, Letters (Chat), Notifications, and Profile. These pages are nicely designed I'm finally content with it's simplicity. I've removed so many redundancies thanks to the free time I have. However now im onto the "main" feature which is a feed. A feed is really the seed for any network looking to grow. So I'm taking bits and pieces from different apps like threads, twitter, and even yikyak for a broader perspective. I also don't want too much technical debt so im going to keep it limited for the MVP product that it is. The feed is the seed. My idea for the network is to allow both genders to openly communicate their experiences and differences, in others words, vent. I think it's a valid stance and I'm going to stick with it. My development process is crazy thanks to vibe coding. I mostly just prompt the ai then read the lines line by line. It's boring but fast. Sitting and waiting just lets my brain to wander during the ai generation. But i like it so my brain doesn't get too fried during the process.
